January 16: Recipe for a New Year, Rev. Carol Anne Lawler

Based on selections of Philippians 4, there is a recipe for a happy and healthy year. Some ingredients include: Just Say Thank you, Don’t Worry, Be Happy, and Contentment Lives in the Present. For the full recipe, see you on Sunday!

Ordained as a United Church of Christ Minister in the 80’s, Rev. Carol Anne Lawler has served as Solo Pastor, Interim and Associate Pastor at various churches in New England and in North Carolina. For the last 5 years she has worked for Hospice and Palliative Care, Lincoln County Regional Office, as a Chaplain and Grief Counselor. In 2009, she received a certification in Subtle Yoga under the direction of Kaoverii Weber in Cornelius NC and has used yoga and meditation practices in her work with clients. She currently enjoys supply preaching for an African American Church (Shinnville United Church of Christ) in Troutman, NC. Rev. Lawler is married to Ken and has two children, Julia and Brandon, who are currently in college. Most recent addition to the family is Maxwell, a 4 month old German Shepard puppy.

Our service begins at 11:00 am and will be held in the conference room of Tomlinson Residence Hall on Davidson College Campus (#11 on the campus map).

  • Faith Development for children. Ages 8-12 starts at 9:45 in the Basement room of the Multicultural House (#12 on the campus map) which is next to Tomlinson, our service site. Ages 5-7 starts after story time during the service.
  • Faith Development for adults. Class starts at 9:50 a..m, in Tomlinson.
  • Please bring a donation for Loaves & Fishes if you are able. At this time they particularly need pasta sauce, spaghetti, soup, and mac & cheese.
