December 19th: Winter Solstice/Holiday Service and Celebration

Worldwide, interpretation of the Winter Solstice event has varied from culture to culture, but most cultures have held a recognition of rebirth. In keeping with these traditions, join us as we combine the Wiccan creation of a sacred circle by the calling of the four quarters and a retelling of the story of the birth of Jesus.

Our service begins at 11:00 am and will be held in the conference room of Tomlinson Residence Hall on Davidson College Campus, (#11 on the Campus map). Doors open at 10:30. Please join us for our Holiday Celebration immediately following the service.

  • Everyone is asked to bring their favorite party food for our Holiday Celebration following the conclusion of the service.
  • No Faith Development for children this Sunday. However, all of our children are encouraged to come and participate in the bringing forth of the candles near the beginning of the service. There will be Christmas carols and congregation-wide candle lighting later in the service.
  • No Faith Development for adults this Sunday. Join us for the Holiday Celebration instead immediately following the service.
